Hydroxypropyl Starch Ether (HPS) is a modified starch ether designed for cement- and gypsum-based dry-mix construction materials. It is primarily used as a rheology modifier and workability enhancer in tile adhesives, wall putty, plaster, render, and other dry-mix mortar formulations. HPS helps improve consistency, anti-sag performance, workability, and application stability, providing effective rheological control at low addition levels. It is commonly used together with cellulose ethers such as HPMC or HEMC/MHEC to optimize the overall performance of dry-mix formulations.
